Where will Thalapathy Vijay contest in the assembly elections?
‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’, a new political party in Tamil Nadu, was officially announced by Thalapathy Vijay. The actor is all set to enter electoral politics by 2026. Apart from his film works, he is concentrating on shaping Vijay Makkal Iyakkam to function as a political party.
We already informed you that Vijay has been elected as the leader of the party. As per the latest news, Thalapathy Vijay is considering contesting in the 2026 assembly elections in either Thoothukudi or Nagapattinam constituency. ‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’ marks its first presence in the South Zone.
The inaugural conference (Maanaadu) is expected to take place in Tirunelveli or Tuticorin (Madurai is also being considered). TVK leader Vijay plans to unveil the party flag to executives at the first conference. Thalapathy Vijay has stated that his party will not be taking any stand in the 2024 parliament elections but will contest the 2026 assembly elections.
