We already brought to you that Madhavan and Jyothika joined Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn in the upcoming horror thriller, ‘Shaitaan’. As the film is slated to hit the screens on March 8th, the official trailer of Shaitaan debuted today, leaving the fans stunned.
The 2.5-minute video opens with Jyothika’s panicked phone call to the police helpline on a rainy night. She is crying for help as her daughter’s life is in danger because of an uninvited guest at their home. Then, the high-octane sequence cuts to the previous day when Madhavan enters Ajay and Jo’s home as a passer-by looking to charge his phone.
As Madhavan overstays his welcome, the couple tries to make him leave but he refuses. The eerie part is that Ajay and Jo’s daughter is now under the control of Madhavan’s commands. Later, Madhavan reveals his true form as ‘Shaitaan’ who is ripping apart the helpless family. Madhavan’s mere presence in the trailer is menacing and it promises to be a gripping thriller.
We can sense shades of the Korean horror classic, ‘The Wailing’, at places but the trailer is original and eerie on its own. The supernatural thriller is directed by Vikas Bahl with a joint production by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. Notably, the makers have revealed too much in the trailer.
